Atmospheric air pollution in
busy motor traffic places led to that
over-ground atmospheric layer (especially the
first metres) is under dangerous pollutant
influence. Into that layer there is a busy
pedestrian traffic. The result is a general
human morbidity increasing, especially in the
regions adjoining polluted motorways. It is
possible to affirm that increasing of oncology,
respirator and some other diseases is a result
of atmospheric air quality worsening in our
town.
For example, the researches of
the Scientific Hygienic Centre of the Ministry
of Health Protection of Ukraine show that
children living for more then 10 years on a
territory with high pollution atmospheric air
degree, have worsening of health indexes. These
children have 1,7 times more chronic diseases
then children living in comparatively pure
regions. Increasing of general children
morbidity conditioned, first of all, by level
increasing of diseases of circulation of the
blood illnesses that grew up 2-8 times on some
polluted territories for last 10 years. Chemical
pollutants and raised noise level also condition
forming the diseases of respiratory, allergic,
endocrine, nervous and other systems.
Emissions of industrial
enterprises and power units and exhaust cars
gases do big damage not only to human health and
to economy, historic, architectural and cultural
monuments of Kyiv. The chemically aggressive
elements and combinations contained in these
emissions cause a destruction of industrial
constructions, houses and architectural
monuments. At the same time the processes of
corrosive destruction of metallic constructions,
bridges, cable networks, metallic roofs,
electricity transmissions lines, trams and
railway tracks are increasing. The tinted
facades and buildings lose its aesthetic
look.
