In whole, Kyiv as a developed
industrial agglomeration has a favourable
provision with biological resources. They are
forests, municipal green plantations, waters and
meadows. It significantly neutralizes
technogenic influence on the environment. It
compensates a temporal lack of technical methods
of ecological protection. That's why provision
of biological and ecological potential is very
actual task of municipal services and state
natural protection organizations. That's why the
efforts of suitable services of the State
Management Department concentrate today on
maximum reserving of municipal landed,
vegetable, water resources as well as on their
inviolability, protection and preservation.
Accordingly to the Order of
Kyiv municipal state authority ( 25.12.1995,
No.325) a regional landscape park
"Golosiyivskii" is created.
For improvement of state of
green plantations and according to orders of
Kyiv municipal authority there was taking down
of dead-wood, emergency, patients trees and
trees damaged by mistletoe as well as purging
away of trees from mistletoe. During this year
17216 trees are cut down and 6248 are purge away
from mistletoe.
Accordingly to Ukraine
President order "Upon the Ukraine action
"Tree is Life" in Kyiv 10727 trees and
25401 were planted, and in all in 1997 in Kyiv
24912 trees, 61890 bushes, 49438100 flowers,
177,1 h grass-plots were planted.
In 1997 12 regional
organizations of green plantations, 3
forest-park economies, 37 natural protection
fund units were checked out as for observance of
natural protection legislation.
For forest state improvement,
ecological and biological functions increasing,
it is necessary to make a permanent detailed
inventory and calculation of many years woodsy
plantations that used by departments,
enterprises, commercial and other organizations.
It is necessary to implement arrangements upon
improvement of sanitary forests state, to
implement a landscape reconstruction of green
plantations, to increase specific trees and
brushwoods breeds storage, to introduce the
fast-growing evergreen arboreal breeds in
plantations . It is necessary to refresh an
active vertical planting of greenery up of
municipal buildings

In plantations of general using
(parks, public gardens, boulevards) a works
complex are taking for supporting a necessary
sanitary state of these territories. The
sanitary parks state ( Syretskii forest,
Kyrylivskii forest, Hydropark, Golosiyivskii
Rylskii park, slopes of the Dnipro right bank )
does not suit today park economy standards. The
main cause of this state is a lack of necessary
funds projects development of their
reconstruction and investments lack for their
arrangement and observation.
Development of green economy in
the town has a direction of new areas creation
landscape reconstruction.In spite of correct
execution of ecological functions by available
potential of vegetable resources, in aforesaid
sphere there are series of problems wanted to
solving.
The main bodies of municipal
ecological territories incseasing for planting
of greenery and for recreation (landscape parks,
public gardens, arboretums, gardens and etc.)
are the following: school allotments, courts of
education offices, research institutes and
organizations. Liquidation of technically
obsolete productions based within the town also
can help to this task. However, as a practice
testifies, this reserve is used insufficiently,
the same as dusting air decreasing factors. It
can be reached by the way of maximum reserving
of natural soil and vegetable cover, removals
and localizations of natural dusting centres,
soils protection from air and water erosion and
mechanical influence. But the main factor is
perhaps in planting all of open territories with
arboreal-shrub or grassy vegetation.
